12 Days of Small Business: Steve Renard, Crowned Fox Adventures

Small Business has its challenges, especially in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, we all have to do our part to support each other and the small businesses with which we are connected. So, W3 Consulting is promoting small businesses through our campaign, 12 Days of Small Business. We hope to highlight each day a small business (or two) that can benefit from visibility and that will benefit our audience.

I was introduced to Steve Renard of Crowned Fox Adventures (by Sharon Sobel of Picture This Video), and I’m so glad I did! I keep talking to my Small Business audiences about the important of digital marketing, and so much of that is now moving toward multimedia. But, so many business owners (perhaps you?) are not comfortable or skilled with being in front of the camera. Learn more about Steve Renard and if you need help with being on camera, reach out and get ready for the next phase of digital marketing.

About Steve Renard

Steve Renard started Crowned Fox Adventures in 2019 after almost 20 years as a corporate video and producer. He works with business owners and leaders to help them connect with audiences on camera.

About Crowned Fox Adventures

Crowned Fox Adventures works with business owners and leaders to help them gain confidence in front of a camera. We work on the mindset, content, and technology factors that help people connect with audiences powerfully and authentically. My ideal client is a business owner or leader who knows they need to be more visible, but they’re not sure how to do it or they’re reluctant to get in front of a camera to achieve their goals.

How is your Small Business unique, different in your industry? What’s your business’s greatest strength/asset today?

Unlike other presence and speaking coaches, I work with people on an inside-out basis – focusing on the mindset and psychology first, and letting external factors like filler words, gestures, and posture sort themselves out to a large degree.

What is your greatest challenge as a Small Business owner? How are you working to overcome that challenge in 2021?

My greatest challenge since starting my business has been making sure that I myself am visible enough and that my marketing is working the way I want it to be. I started my business in 2019 thinking I knew a little about marketing already, and quickly discovered I had a very steep learning curve. I am improving, but not where I want to be yet. In 2021, I’m going to continue to push for more visibility to draw people in, and refine my sales process to make sure I’m converting the right people into clients.

12 Days of Small Business: Steve Dunn, Frontline Sales Advisors

Small Business has its challenges, especially in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, we all have to do our part to support each other and the small businesses with which we are connected. So, W3 Consulting is promoting small businesses through our campaign, 12 Days of Small Business. We hope to highlight each day a small business (or two) that can benefit from visibility and that will benefit our audience.

I met Steve Dunn, founder of Frontline Sales Advisors, at a small business conference in Pittsburgh, and he’s a gentleman through and through. Steve brings extensive experience as a sales executive, and if you’re a business owner looking to grow your business revenues, learn more about and touch base with Steve and his team about developing your outbound sales strategy.

About Steve Dunn

Steve Dunn is a business development professional providing outbound prospecting and lead generation strategy services to assist companies identify, target, qualify and close new business opportunities.

About Frontline Sales Advisors

We help businesses and/or business owners develop outbound selling skills. Sales is not a simple endeavor. Having a strategy for how selling works and what might or might not be the best approach needs to be part of any business plan.

Many companies have a well thought out marketing plan but may not have given as much thought to what their outreach strategies will be. Whatever type of business, whether a startup or established corporation, the plan to drive new business or open new markets needs to include an outreach effort.

Our focus is to work with business owners on sales specific strategies and to help develop and initiate outbound selling campaigns. While a business owner is an expert in their line of work, they might not be that knowledgeable in sales and sales strategies. Some of the services we provide include email design, lead gen activities and campaign targeting, prospecting techniques, building a prospect database and help with talent selection.

We primarily focus on working with small businesses that may not have the in-house expertise to develop and implement an outbound sales strategy. We can scale our efforts to work with marketing and sales departments of larger companies that may be interested in outsourcing lead generation and outbound calling or need follow-up services after conferences or webinars.

How is your Small Business unique, different in your industry? What’s your business’s greatest strength/asset today?

Many companies tend to rely on inbound strategies like their web site, SEO, having a stronger social media presence, etc. as the primary source of finding new clients. These types of services are typically outsourced to a marketing firm that will focus on different ways to have a potential client contact your company, that’s why it’s referred to as inbound.

Our focus is unique in that we work to develop outbound prospecting and lead generation strategies that complement a company’s inbound campaign as another way to find new prospects. Both strategies are key, but in many cases, relying just on having a better web site or a new Facebook post, using the “if you build it they will come” strategy may ultimately be shortsighted.

Our goal is to help product owners develop new skills that are outbound focused, providing one more tool to help them identify, target, qualify and close new business opportunities.

What is your greatest challenge as a Small Business owner? How are you working to overcome that challenge in 2021?

Like many small businesses, this year has been a challenge. One of our biggest obstacles is being able to balance the time between working on a client’s business and providing them the high quality services they expect, while at the same time working to identify new consulting opportunities and to grow our own client base. Identifying and prioritizing opportunities for our own growth will be an area that will get more of our attention during 2021.

12 Days of Small Business: Jon DeNunzio, Squarely Digital

Small Business has its challenges, especially in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, we all have to do our part to support each other and the small businesses with which we are connected. So, W3 Consulting is promoting small businesses through our campaign, 12 Days of Small Business. We hope to highlight each day a small business (or two) that can benefit from visibility and that will benefit our audience.

Like so many of my contacts, I met Jon DeNunzio of Squarely Digital by his attendance at the Alexandria Small Business Development Center’s monthly Business Development Roundtable, which I’ve been facilitating for the past 12 years. Jon has proven himself a competent, focused entrepreneur and a savvy digital marketer throughout the years I’ve known him. Jon executes the marketing and advertising strategies for his clients with the same standards he holds for himself, and I always feel comfortable referring them to him for candor and thoroughness.

About Jon DeNunzio

Jon founded Squarely Digital in 2013 after a journalism career that spanned more than 20 years. Most of that career was spent at The Washington Post, in both its print and digital newsrooms. He is passionate about writing and using it to produce high-quality marketing content, and leveraging digital tools to measure campaigns’ effectiveness.

About Squarely Digital

Squarely Digital provides digital marketing consulting that helps businesses get better results online. Our specialties are high-quality content marketing and pay-per-click advertising. Besides hands-on work on campaigns with concierge-level service, we run content marketing workshops to help other SMBs improve and grow.

Our ideal clients are small- and medium-sized businesses whose prospects have longer buyers’ journeys — they take longer to investigate solutions to their problem and decide on the best solution.

How is your Small Business unique, different in your industry? What’s your business’s greatest strength/asset today?

Unparalleled proficiency with words and numbers: As a former editor at The Washington Post, I know good writing and how to produce it — on deadline. And I’ve always been comfortable with math (I love Excel!), so using digital marketing data to optimize campaigns comes naturally.

What is your greatest challenge as a Small Business owner? How are you working to overcome that challenge in 2021?

Small business often presents challenges of efficiency, and my business is no exception. The good news is there are more and more digital tools available to help business owners streamline their efforts. I plan to take advantage of more of them in the coming year.
